It is also waterproof and battery lasts so you can read for weeks on a single charge. It has Wi-Fi connection and you can copy eBooks from your computer to the internal 8Gb storage. And there is also audio you can stream to an external speaker or your car to connect a wireless headset or connect a wired headset via the audio jack.</p>
<p>You may want to root it to install other applications and use it as a tablet for it runs under Android 4.4</p>
<p>What you need to root</p>
<p>adb (Android Debug Bridge) installed (<a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/">https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/</a>)</p>
<p>rootGLP.zip (<a href="https://xdaforums.com/t/how-to-root-and-set-up-a-new-nook-glowlight-3.3802331/">https://xdaforums.com/t/how-to-root-and-set-up-a-new-nook-glowlight-3.3802331/</a>)</p>
<p>Before you start the process, you should keep in mind that rooting the Nook very likely voids the warranty. When you make after-market modifications to the embedded software on a consumer electronics device, there are always risks. In this case, there is a possibility that you could brick the device. Rooting also exposes the user to greater risk of potential security issues. So, from now on it is your responsibility.</p>

<h2 id="root-the-nook-simple-touch">Root the Nook Simple Touch</h2>
<p>This update is only for firmware 1.2.2, I was impatient and tried to do it on the old firmware and it does not work well as you cannot install apk files or have Wifi connection.
So, first read well this post: <a href="https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/nst-g-updating-nookmanager-for-fw-1-2-2.3873048/" rel="nofollow">https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/nst-g-updating-nookmanager-for-fw-1-2-2.3873048/</a> and then:</p>
<ol>
<li>Download the good image file NookManager_Traditional.zip I have chosen this one because there is ES File Explorer installed which allows you to install android apk files directly from the reader.</li>
<li>To root the reader follow the instructions from the old post to prepare the SD card <a href="https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-nookmanager-graphical-rooter-for-1-2-x-and-beyond.2040351/" rel="nofollow">https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-nookmanager-graphical-rooter-for-1-2-x-and-beyond.2040351/</a> BUT use the image downloaded from the first post instead the _NookManager<em>Traditional</em> after unzip you will see the NookManager img file. That is the good one to make the image in the SD card.</li>
<li>The process is simple: turn off the reader, insert the SD Card and follow instructions. Before all, do a backup with the NookManager utility, so if something goes wrong you can always revert to the original firmware and use the reader. Then proceed with the root process explained in the post. Do not forget to apply the configurations included in the NookManager_Traditional.zip</li>
</ol>
<h2 id="aplications-that-run-in-the-nook-simple-touch">Aplications that run in the Nook Simple Touch</h2>
<p>The Nook Simple Touch is under Android 2.1 Eclair. With the NookManager you have a few applications installed but you can install yours if you find the apk compatible with that Android version. Use the ES File Explorer to do so.

It has a plastic cover over the buttons to keep it dry while you are taking a shower. But a few weeks ago it stoped for no reason after only about five minutes working. At first I thought that it was some kind of security system which started when the air is too humid and I tried to start it up over and over but it did not work.</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiEYlzkFAXC1bmEhMga3pm8x1wwyF5OwGV3FDcp4QYMpzmdqZwbypbTl8dGusRZYVGP2Hfm9rWniBrmHRs6PBzp42l-DvvhX2FNsXFE3EWuxQzO-UuLLXqBMA8xsLk4fpph-ZKom7_1mu_zI3T_OE7IMcjzUUrK8JREDZyS1YSv8fZ-Q8BEdKS4GO6/s4032/rowenta-instant-comfort-aqua.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiEYlzkFAXC1bmEhMga3pm8x1wwyF5OwGV3FDcp4QYMpzmdqZwbypbTl8dGusRZYVGP2Hfm9rWniBrmHRs6PBzp42l-DvvhX2FNsXFE3EWuxQzO-UuLLXqBMA8xsLk4fpph-ZKom7_1mu_zI3T_OE7IMcjzUUrK8JREDZyS1YSv8fZ-Q8BEdKS4GO6/s320/rowenta-instant-comfort-aqua.jpg" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Rowenta Instant Comfort Aqua</td></tr></tbody></table><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>I could say that I was ready to buy a new fan heater for the bathroom for showers in winter need some heat for sure. The knife was in a shameful state, dirty and with the blade badly deformed because of very bad sharpening. I paid 7 euros for it and I wanted to restore it with simple tools. I must say that this knife is very comfortable to hold and work with the curbed shape makes easy to cut with along with the soft grip finish. The blade has a liner lock locking system which is an original mechanism to unlock it just by pressing with the thumb on the white Swiss cross. I find it a very nice EDC pocket knife with a modern look and having a locking blade with this size 7.5 cm or 2.95'' it is great. Also the large hole in blade and tools makes it very easy to open them.</p><p>Compared to my Victorinox Camper it is lighter and nicer but not so resistant and the scales get dirt very easily. I was looking for new scales to replace them but could not find them up to now. I think that even when buying a new one, having replacement scales will be handy for they are not hard enough and get used very easily.</p></div>Mariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16930895206718270343noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437873806419097494.post-73878767765210318812022-03-09T13:26:00.001-08:002022-03-09T13:30:20.016-08:00Squire Strat guitar lower and level frets<p>I have got my new pack with the Squire Fender Stratocaster electric guitar and the 10G amplifier. I found this guitar fantastic for the price I have paid, about 100 euros along with a bag, a strap and the cable. For such a cheap instrument one can expect to find things to improve, like the neck of the guitar which was hard to play with because the height of the frets. So I decided to loose the strings and lower the frets with 600 grits sand paper.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhd4vS4UzeEbhoK250lUKc0XZETNkx1R9Mo-fC7eb7WCn_UiOstBEF1sSbVSUJKG-AmEnw5MOeFCmfokikVlHKRBR-MXUs8JDXKB75JIdMlOHwAEdLOPoImja8Hjr9cAbsZeeBPrVGwB_huUdp8p7r-IOWkp4fhsQ9IlsQR9pFui_EBY6pKdOBgbGjA=s1328" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="748" data-original-width="1328" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhd4vS4UzeEbhoK250lUKc0XZETNkx1R9Mo-fC7eb7WCn_UiOstBEF1sSbVSUJKG-AmEnw5MOeFCmfokikVlHKRBR-MXUs8JDXKB75JIdMlOHwAEdLOPoImja8Hjr9cAbsZeeBPrVGwB_huUdp8p7r-IOWkp4fhsQ9IlsQR9pFui_EBY6pKdOBgbGjA=s320" width="320" /></a></div><p>Well I started with 600 grits paper sticked to a wooden box to make it flat, but the procedure was too slow, so I changed to 280 grits first. I went over and over the frets to remove material until I thought they would be more comfortable to play. But this is a delicate thing because if frets are too low or not well leveled then your guitar may sound buzzing or out of tune.</p><p>Once the frets were low enough I leveled them by putting a cutter blade on the first three frets, then moved the blade up and down always touching the middle fret. If I heard any noise then I knew that that middle fret was higher than the others, so I have worked on it until all were leveled.</p><p>I have repeated this procedure with the next three frets and so on with the others three until the end. And it needs to be done in the middle and on the sides closer to the edge of the neck. This takes time but once it is done you know that the frets on the neck of your guitar are perfectly leveled.</p><p>After verifying all I crowned or rounded all frets because after the lowering work they were flatter and this needs to be corrected. To do so I took a cork from a bottle of wine, made a vertical mark on it to position the sand paper inside to work on the frets with it.</p><p>Then I polished the ends of the frets on the sides of the neck so they would not hurt while playing.</p><p>And finally I have put some brown shoe polish on the wood of the neck to nourish, protect it and make it shine.</p><p>You can see it the video and I had to work more on it that I said, with different sandpaper grits and in some cases a file. The result is wonderful.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/M5b6Z8uI210" width="320" youtube-src-id="M5b6Z8uI210"></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p>Mariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16930895206718270343noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437873806419097494.post-72675614794666596392021-11-29T00:06:00.002-08:002021-11-29T00:13:00.541-08:00Insulate garage door with pipe foam<p> To insulate the bottom of the garage door in a very easily and cheap way I just bought 3 meters of pipe insulating foam for 3 euros. The pipe insulation foam is very flexible and light and a very cheap material to keep the pipes from freezing in winter and comes as tubes with an opening in the side to easily adapt them to the pipe. I though of using this opening side or pre-slit to put it on the bottom of the garage door.</p><p>This is not a complete insulation method for a garage door but it helps a lot to keep the cold away. It took me less than five minutes to adapt the foam to the bottom of the door.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_kFuVT_edx6R258DOKYb-Ytc9-gWHh3vGDymBOFvYcg8P08eKAe9tLaZ9eqxgcmvOfP0R2ayddSbLLlEFfO1a65JLwe5ddngupvyqjnV2govVONioQNR8K5IP6bTy0K8Q6_aKzzix7f0/s2048/insulating-garage-door_20211009_175907.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_kFuVT_edx6R258DOKYb-Ytc9-gWHh3vGDymBOFvYcg8P08eKAe9tLaZ9eqxgcmvOfP0R2ayddSbLLlEFfO1a65JLwe5ddngupvyqjnV2govVONioQNR8K5IP6bTy0K8Q6_aKzzix7f0/s320/insulating-garage-door_20211009_175907.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here is a short video on how I did it</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2Jx_2nnnmJY" width="320" youtube-src-id="2Jx_2nnnmJY"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>Mariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16930895206718270343noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437873806419097494.post-27955056593404950952021-10-02T11:07:00.004-07:002021-10-02T11:07:40.706-07:00Repair a wash machine drum paddle<p>How to easily replace a broken wash machine drum paddle. It was easy to replace it, at least for my wash machine model, once I have put the piece into the six holes position I just pushed towards the inside of the drum. I paused the video to use both hands for more precision but it was really easy to do.</p><p>There is also a small metal tab that should be lifted up to keep the paddle in the good position. Some will tell you that you will need a special tool, but believe me, it is much more simple than that as I have just used my finger to do so.</p><p>After placing the piece I have just wash my clothes and they are clean and fine. So I saved lots of money today by not calling a technician and repairing this by myself.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/h2NnaAmEPVs" width="320" youtube-src-id="h2NnaAmEPVs"></iframe></div><br /><p></p>Mariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16930895206718270343noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437873806419097494.post-82856461871720231342021-02-28T08:47:00.007-08:002021-03-01T14:17:17.526-08:00Use Atom for writing<p> I use markdown for writing most of the time and I like a light tool to do it. Atom is an open source ide used mostly for web programming but it can easily be tuned to make of it a distraction free environment ideal for writing. <br /><br />I have updated the atom css style sheet to have a warm gray background color, easy on the eyes with a bold font weight. And also hid the gutter with line numbers, you do not need line numbers when writing usually. <br /></p><p>One good thing to do is uninstall or deactivate all unneeded packages to improve performance.<br />I have installed the <a href="https://atom.io/packages/wordcount">https://atom.io/packages/wordcount</a> to display the number of written words on the bottom bar. I am seeing the message from Youtube that it will not be compatible with old browsers very soon. I have a MacBook pro with 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, so I cannot install new browsers anymore. I have tested compatible browsers like ArticFox, but I also see the same message: very soon I would not be able to watch Youtube on any browser.<br />
What to do? I cannot and want not update my old MacBook pro. Well I also have a linux laptop but all files and configuration are for now on this old chap. I updated the hard disk to a ssd one and it works like a charm. I hate throwing away things that work well so I am keeping this old Mac. I am a rebel I will keep it as long as I can.<br />
I am glad to tell you that I have found a nice browser and installed it with no problems. It is Waterfox based on Mozilla, I also have imported settings and configurations from Firefox with no problem. They also promise that no telemetry is collected and no sending back data and there are also versions for old Windows and Linux platforms. And it is very fast and light. So here it is:<br />
<br />
https://www.waterfox.net/<br />
<br />
Just download it and browse!</div>

You can plug an external USB keyboard to a Nook simple Touch and type to make your e-ink reader a tool to write documents. I really love e-ink screens as they are easy on your eyes for long writing sessions.<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
You will need:</h4>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>A rooted Nook Simple Touch.</li>
<li>An OTG cable adapter.</li>
<li>A cheap external keyboard .</li>
<li>ADB Command line tools from: https://developer.android.com/studio#downloads</li>
<li>Two binary images: uImage and uRamdisk that you can download from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-touch/general/nook-glow-multitouch-usbhost-files-t2846867</li>
<li>USB Mode Utility apk from http://temblast.com/download/UsbMode-1.7a.apk </li>
</ul>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
How to do it</h4>
Install ADB<br />
<br />
I am usign Mac here so the file I downloaded is: sdk-tools-darwin-4333796.zip<br />
<br />
Unzip the sdk tools to a folder, lets name it adb but it could be any name.<br />
<br />
In the same folder copy the two images files uImage and uRamdisk and the USB Mode apk UsbMode-1.7a.apk<br />
<br />
Connect the Nook Simple Touch to the computer and from the adb folder type:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">./adb shell<br /># mount -o rw,remount rootfs /<br /># mkdir /boot<br /># mount -t vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /boot<br /># exit<br /><br />./adb <br />./adb shell<br />./adb push uImage /boot/<br />./adb push uRamdisk /boot/<br />./adb install UsbMode-1.7.apk<br />./adb reboot </span><br />
<br />
By doing the instructions: ./adb push uImage /boot/ and ./adb push uRamdisk /boot/ you just replaced the boot files and with the UsbMode apk you will open the Host mode through the usb port to use the external keyboard.<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
How to type</h4>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Unplug the Nook Simple Touch from the computer.</li>
<li>Plug the external keyboard.</li>
<li>Open the UsbMode Utility application.</li>
<li>Click on Host.</li>
<li>The green Led lights up.</li>
<li>Open a Text Editor, I have installed Jota.</li>
<li>Type :D</li>
<li>When you are finish typing, click on Peripheral.</li>
<li>The green red light is off.</li>
<li>Unplug the keyboard.</li>
</ul>
<br />

As you may already know a computer monitor does not have a TV tuner in it, just because it is merely used to display the images from a computer, and most of them do not have a sound output either.<br />
So you will need a tuner connected to an antenna to receive the local TV channels.<br />
In my case I am using the TV tuner from Orange which is an Ultra HD decoder that comes with the Internet subscription, but a simple TNT decoder will do the job and they are really cheap.<br />
As for the HDMI output from the TV tuner to the monitor I am using a cable DVD-I to HDMI because this is an old screen which have no HDMI input, but only a VGA and a DVD-I ones.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgucO28qgGF25jj9ftSyurz8bxyHpGgw5IkgcnUD9GB_AG5Yv8DFU0Ze8pRGChsAc0YtjpyPvxIEAKAvUhvH792fZbAk5Ybhlsz8sm9Q49H05smIzpNAen0v0rigqSTFrch9Y4afMKGCYo/s1600/dvd-i-to-hdmi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="355" data-original-width="355" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgucO28qgGF25jj9ftSyurz8bxyHpGgw5IkgcnUD9GB_AG5Yv8DFU0Ze8pRGChsAc0YtjpyPvxIEAKAvUhvH792fZbAk5Ybhlsz8sm9Q49H05smIzpNAen0v0rigqSTFrch9Y4afMKGCYo/s320/dvd-i-to-hdmi.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
If your monitor have a VGA input and a DVD-I input too, it is better to use the DVD-I input, or at least, with the cable I had before, the VGA to HDMI did not work. Just make sure that it is full HD compatible.<br />
<br />
For the sound I had to find a more sophisticated solution because the TV tuner sound output is a RCA digital which is not compatible with the stereo jack 3.5 analog in my speakers<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-B1pAGXVhyphenhyphen8K1xX5_qhrE3c3Fe0F0_0e48GeZGQgQoBt85ppi5ENsucxsuyiTmwcasj1eKUcuEtU0G3cV9D0NXS7NxIo-wWPYVtkbWgx9-QFI5OFL4ImjhfyWnMb7BHTv0K1T6U3WOi0/s1600/digital-to-analog-sound-converter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-B1pAGXVhyphenhyphen8K1xX5_qhrE3c3Fe0F0_0e48GeZGQgQoBt85ppi5ENsucxsuyiTmwcasj1eKUcuEtU0G3cV9D0NXS7NxIo-wWPYVtkbWgx9-QFI5OFL4ImjhfyWnMb7BHTv0K1T6U3WOi0/s320/digital-to-analog-sound-converter.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This sound converter needs to be powered through an USB cable and a charger and once all is plugged in, it works like a charm as you can see in this video.<br /><br />

My Nook Simple Touch is now a device which can read eBooks with Aldiko and write text with Jota Text Editor. But it was not an easy way because I could not make work Google Market. To root the Nook version 1.1 I followed the <a href="https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351719" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">xda forum post</a> and it worked after some reboots, and no android screen, then I realized that the there were no android screen at all and the reader was rooted.<br />
Then Youtube did not work either, just Gmail.<br />
Well, what do you expect to do with such an old device? And with an E-Ink screen you would not watch videos anyway. I managed to install olds apk applications through the ES File Explorer that was included in the rooting apps, here is what it works up to now:<br />
<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>jota-text-editor0.2.31.apk</li>
<li>aldiko-standard-2.00.081.apk</li>
<li>AlReader3Activity.apk</li>
</ul>
<br />
<br />
Well, these may not mean much but it is all that I need just to read and write on a E-Ink reader. If you read and write a lot you know that the backlit of computers, tablets and smartphones wear your eyes, so now I can even read on the web with the Opera Mini browser. With AIReader I can read mobi files too, after all we are here on Android 2. I downloaded the latest version of AIReader from Google Play and I should say that it is a wonderful light ever working application for reading many formats. I have donated, I like doing so when I really like something.<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After rooting</span><br />
After rooting you still have the old Nook software living together with the Buttons Saviour Menu from the rooting apps, floating on the right side of the screen. The screen remains always portrait oriented and gets on landscape when you change the settings with Aldiko or Jota Editor.<br />
The next step is to connect a physical keyboard to type with, I am waiting for the cable adaptor that I have ordered.<br />
And last but not least; battery on this thing lasts for ever.<br />

I wanted to unroot my Nexus 5X with the Nexus Root Toolkit and ended up with a soft bricked phone with a: your device has loaded a different operating system message and after trying to reboot again the other message: your device is corrupted and cannot be trusted.<br />
At some moment when the tool tried to flash the bootloader got locked and would not let finish the process, then the infinite loop started again.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKr5rYG-7lCiYaIu2o3Wsj65etd1Xd5yEVUg39Jo5i1vBv9u2xK1_oCWsSEtFr7EGETUvM4rO31Xa99tFDekO-HSttJT11xMivhdhX-FmBtnqZWw3YKvvlwWemGHU0oU534teo2LbYyZw/s1600/nexus-5X-device-is-locked.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKr5rYG-7lCiYaIu2o3Wsj65etd1Xd5yEVUg39Jo5i1vBv9u2xK1_oCWsSEtFr7EGETUvM4rO31Xa99tFDekO-HSttJT11xMivhdhX-FmBtnqZWw3YKvvlwWemGHU0oU534teo2LbYyZw/s320/nexus-5X-device-is-locked.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It took me a few hours and a lot of patience to figure out how to solve this. I had downloaded a factory image from here: https://developers.google.com/android/images once I had extracted all files from the factory image I analyzed the flash-all.bat file and this is what I could see:<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-bullhead-bhz11h.img<br />
fastboot reboot-bootloader<br />
ping -n 5 127.0.0.1 >nul<br />
fastboot flash radio radio-bullhead-m8994f-2.6.36.2.20.img<br />
fastboot reboot-bootloader<br />
ping -n 5 127.0.0.1 >nul<br />
fastboot -w update image-bullhead-n4f26i.zip<br />
<br />
echo Press any key to exit...<br />
pause >nul<br />
exit</span>
<br />
<br />
Here is how I solved it, I opened a command line window where I had extracted the files. This will only work if you have adb installed, of course, if you do not have it you can download the https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools. And basically all I did was unlock the bootloader and execute the flashing instructions by hand omiting the <span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">fastboot reboot-bootloader</span> part.<br />
<br />
1. Connect the phone to the computer in fastboot mode.<br />
2. Unlock the bootloader from the command line: <span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">fastboot oem unlock</span><br />
3. Flash the factory image from the command line:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-bullhead-bhz11h.img</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">fastboot flash radio radio-bullhead-m8994f-2.6.36.2.20.img</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">fastboot -w update image-bullhead-n4f26i.zip</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><br /></span>
Here is the video<br />

How to create a bootable SD card using Mac only to root and Install Android on a Nook HD. You may have an old Barnes & Noble Nook HD and may be wondering how to give it a second life. The original Nook OS is very old and has many restrictions, but the old lion's heart is beating with a dual core chip and 1 GB of RAM. So it is worth to give it a try to convert it in a complete tablet running a full version of Android. <br />
I have installed the CyanogenMod 10.1.3 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean version and even though I know there are people there installing Nougat on the Nook HD I prefers to keep it light and give Jelly Bean a try.<br />
Here is what you need:<br />
<br />
<a href="https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">NookHD-bootable-CWM-6027-for-emmc-stock-4GB-rev3-(02.03.13).zip</a> This is the Nook Bootloader file which will allow you to start your Nook HD from an SD card, there will be an image file there so the tablet will recognise as system image to boot from<br />
<br />
<b>cm-10.1.3-hummingbird.zip</b> Android Operating System and Google Apps. As for Android the version I am using is CyanogenMod 10.1.3 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean<br />
<br />
<b>gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip</b> These are a set of basic Google apps to start using your tablet like the Play Market from which you may install your desired applications<br />

Download both files from <a href="https://mega.nz/#F!WVMCyY6A!jVGCkJHGeYry_hlikJlVWg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a><br />
<br />
<b>A 4Gb micro SD card with an USB adapter</b>. I am using an 8 Gb micro SD that I once had in a smartphone.<br />
<br />
You may download all needed files unto a temporary folder to easy the process. I have created a folder named: nook_hd_files<br />
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
Let's start to root and flash the Nook HD</h3>
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
1. Create a bootable SD card with Mac</h4>
Put the SD card into the USB adapter.<br />
<br />
Format the SD with Disc Utility > MS-DOS > Delete<br />
<br />
Unzip the Nook Bootloader file: NookHD-bootable-CWM-6027-for-emmc-stock-4GB-rev3-(02.03.13).zip<br />
Now you will see the NookHD-bootable-CWM-6027-for-emmc-stock-4GB-rev3-(02.03.13).img file this is the bootloader that will start your Nook from the SD card.<br />
<br />
Rename the img file to NookHD-bootable.img or any other name without the parenthesis.<br />
<br />
Right click on the img file and check file information, copy the path to the img file somewhere<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">/Users/maria/nook_hd_files/NookHD-bootable.img</span><br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
2. Flash the Nook Bootloader into the SD card</h4>
Eject the SD card, open a terminal (under Utilities) and type:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">diskutil list</span><br />
<br />
Insert your SD card with the USB adapter and you will see a new media appearing in the list, something like:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">/dev/disk1</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"> #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"> 0: FDisk_partition_scheme *7.8 GB disk1</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"> 1: DOS_FAT_32 NO NAME 7.8 GB disk1s1</span><br />
<br />
<br />
/dev/disk1 is your wanted partition device, make sure that this is your wanted flash media as the use of the dd tool can overwrite any partition of your machine. If you specify the wrong device you could delete your primary Mac OS partition.<br />
<br />
To unmount the SD card type:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk1</span><br />
<br />
Flash the image file with dd tool:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">sudo dd if=/Users/maria/nook_hd_files/NookHD-bootable.img of=/dev/disk1 bs=1m</span><br />
<br />
This may take a little while, it took 50 minutes for me.<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
3. Copy Android System and Google Apps into the SD card</h4>
Copy cm-10.1.3-hummingbird.zip and gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip to the SD card. I have just copied them with Finder.<br />
<br />
Eject the SD card:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"> diskutil eject /dev/disk1</span><br />
<br />
Your SD card content files should look like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwu_xo9A5CNL7YXGd7NqnUAXsDS_h5z7Bkyouar64UtKEhNu21N6Cj_S7R-8ieyqWcPzq07rX86XU3E3rlQtjue9jdc3j1TZvKT9hpi1iwtgEVQx1sE2aT4HJrRUlcubdcSO7nRrY_8XE/s1600/bootable-sd-card-nook-hd-mac.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="512" data-original-width="600" height="273" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwu_xo9A5CNL7YXGd7NqnUAXsDS_h5z7Bkyouar64UtKEhNu21N6Cj_S7R-8ieyqWcPzq07rX86XU3E3rlQtjue9jdc3j1TZvKT9hpi1iwtgEVQx1sE2aT4HJrRUlcubdcSO7nRrY_8XE/s320/bootable-sd-card-nook-hd-mac.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
4. Root and Flash Android on Nook ND</h4>
Turn the Nook ND off and insert the SD card you will boot into the bootloader menu.<br />
<br />
To navigate through the bootloader menu:<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li> Volume up: move up one item in the menu</li>
<li> Volume down: move down one item</li>
<li> Nook button: select</li>
<li> Power button: go back to previous menu</li>
</ul>
<br />
To have <b>a clean new install</b> with better performance do first a wipe cache partition and then a wipe data/factory reset. All of your data will be deleted. And to flash:<br />
<br />
1. Scroll down to the "install zip" option and select it with Nook button.<br />
2. Scroll down to "choose zip from /external_sd" and select it with Nook button.<br />
<br />
For the rest of the procedure you can watch my video here:<br />

How to fix AdsSense responsive problems without modifying AdSense code. AdSense Responsive adapts to device sizes to display ads properly. The size of the ad will automatically adapt to smartphones browsers, tablets and any web site. But making these ads work need some implementation or you may get the no slot size for available with Javascript error, or just not seeing any ad all.<br />
<br />
But, <b>do not edit the inside AdSense Javascript code at all</b>, do not add any custom css style to it or modify the tags, just take your code from AdSense unit as is and copy and paste it in your web site. It will look like this:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script> <br /><ins class="adsbygoogle" <br /> style="display:block" <br /> data-ad-client="<b>xxx</b>" <br /> data-ad-slot="<b>xxx</b>" <br /> data-ad-format="auto"></ins> <br /><script> <br />(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); <br /></script></span></span><br />
<br />
Before copying into your web site you need to create a div that will act as a parent container:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><div style="width: 300px; height: auto"></span> <br /><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">!<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">-- Copy <span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Ad<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Sense code here --></span></span></span></span></span> <br /></<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">div</span>></span></span><br />
<br />
That will display an ad with a maximum width of 300 pixels and any available height. If you only want to display ads with limited maximum width and height, let´s say you want a 300 x 250 rectangular box, then your code should look like this:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><div style="width: 300px; height: <span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">250px</span>"></span> <br /><span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;"><<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">!<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">-- Copy <span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Ad<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">Sense code here --></span></span></span></span></span> <br /></<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">div</span>></span></span><br />
<br />
This will display any ads with 300 x 250 pixels and any other available smaller size ad adapted to smartphones, tablets and any other device. </div>

Well, first of all do <b>not</b> use nail cleaner as it is highly corrosive and will badly ruin the lens. Specially if the camera lens is made of plastic. This just will ruin your phone as I did with mine.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLg2BElGPSHv-H_FotY-bNp-yMV4rUMu-8KIzuoUNkwk-9ZTPpExugmBLCU694WYDR3mo6LtpPiRnk37zfq5YlBiKvigi2nf2rQfwPa_QLKv5X8zeqMikm3dGJfZwPCOmSFR9nCNkcNWI/s1600/damaged-camera-len-by-nail-cleaner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLg2BElGPSHv-H_FotY-bNp-yMV4rUMu-8KIzuoUNkwk-9ZTPpExugmBLCU694WYDR3mo6LtpPiRnk37zfq5YlBiKvigi2nf2rQfwPa_QLKv5X8zeqMikm3dGJfZwPCOmSFR9nCNkcNWI/s320/damaged-camera-len-by-nail-cleaner.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After this, pictures looked blurry, but I tried to find a solution, a way to polish back the lens to an acceptable state so it could take decent pictures again. I had to find something that polished plastic other than tooth paste, because I tried with tooth paste to recover it but did not work. Tooth paste was not strong enough to do it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin21zjEcJ9jHt28uRxoKSEHHzV8-mCyhcnXFh0xeSJRXRWVjlo5ndnGckAREXVQ1CWgnUcilzOAXQiLzj7yRfVzQyrzzqkvvJqaKPWFXrF8Z4f3LgFdxUYvcdVdDaFI9L9QTOAOJ4cAXQ/s1600/before-polishing-camera-len.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin21zjEcJ9jHt28uRxoKSEHHzV8-mCyhcnXFh0xeSJRXRWVjlo5ndnGckAREXVQ1CWgnUcilzOAXQiLzj7yRfVzQyrzzqkvvJqaKPWFXrF8Z4f3LgFdxUYvcdVdDaFI9L9QTOAOJ4cAXQ/s320/before-polishing-camera-len.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAA4Ifm60aEHlo_OHjtR-MASsxD94KREx6O5OOdnuOed2lN0qU-xHgx607ku5J89EH1j7sw4Xi-OR694h_tHIJtIHgxGkgfufUw2ih_bFbT4TUVKGLjKZ5KMEFreOK8rADzQhBaDrcSVE/s1600/before-polishing-camera-len-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAA4Ifm60aEHlo_OHjtR-MASsxD94KREx6O5OOdnuOed2lN0qU-xHgx607ku5J89EH1j7sw4Xi-OR694h_tHIJtIHgxGkgfufUw2ih_bFbT4TUVKGLjKZ5KMEFreOK8rADzQhBaDrcSVE/s320/before-polishing-camera-len-2.jpg" width="179" /></a></div>
<br />
I tried several products to find that the best one was appliance cleaner, the kind used to polish stainless steel. But it took me some patience and for more than forty minutes I scrubed the lens gently with cotton dipped in this product. I put some scotch tape around it to prevent spills inside the phone.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQm8CGEzXJsgGPmzN8yndAGsYPNCxgr23TtQkjapoA4PpI8X45Z-pM-FpzHdo9qtvMLAZhthVTbPXEE13MbuzyqdxJbnRsnREYpMPFWITfFmE4YEQ5IGcvaU8WvrbOr8kX5MwLatOcTxY/s1600/polishing-camera-len-with-appliance-cleaner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQm8CGEzXJsgGPmzN8yndAGsYPNCxgr23TtQkjapoA4PpI8X45Z-pM-FpzHdo9qtvMLAZhthVTbPXEE13MbuzyqdxJbnRsnREYpMPFWITfFmE4YEQ5IGcvaU8WvrbOr8kX5MwLatOcTxY/s320/polishing-camera-len-with-appliance-cleaner.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the product I have used, a strong home cleaner with ammoniac:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The last five minutes I used tooth paste for a fine finish.<br />
I took pictures and I saw some improvement, as you can see here.<br />
<br />

Nice! Well, tooth paste is also corrosive and you can damage the anti glare layer on the lens, but if there are many sctractes it may be good to use it.<br />
<br />
Here is the phone camera back to life again!<br />

How to change the earpiece of a Motorola Moto G 1st Generation. If you have sound problem during phone conversations but through the headphone the sound it is all right, it is probably a problem with the earpiece itself. You can by a new earpiece for less than 5 euros.<br />
The first step its to remove the midframe<br />

Carefull with power and sound volume buttons, remove then and put them aside before they fall down. And there I have found something amazing. You can see next to the camera over the earphone connector some metalic debris, it was like some kind of micro magnetic dust. I do not know how it got there, I just removed with a brush.<br />

Unplug the battery connector you can use a pry tool like the one in the picture, it works really well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHjfhqZa1RDjJHdk1YGbKSXlKkbL4mBDPzFb1DYN967SoTKp4oeNEJAT9WrBo-RzFEsg6mcJVGR3XtIHqaid5JQ6Lcwirf_ZKBImd09InASIY86QXbLm20jXVOEAZPUHvq-brtgB8NoZE/s1600/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHjfhqZa1RDjJHdk1YGbKSXlKkbL4mBDPzFb1DYN967SoTKp4oeNEJAT9WrBo-RzFEsg6mcJVGR3XtIHqaid5JQ6Lcwirf_ZKBImd09InASIY86QXbLm20jXVOEAZPUHvq-brtgB8NoZE/s320/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then pull from the plastic label that holds the battery. Do not bend the battery and use the plastic tool to help, like a lever.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz1wicbpOax9LEDm9akm8q6vZMjGVPipBy25A1wixKuRqqt-1ze-NpBCtQX8Bc7mXd41_tPmVqXTDKV5keOJNnbNXl577prO1E2Sco1sjwPXhydDrlb9ZGdhvjbd9guWX_bo4wlfPxZ-g/s1600/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz1wicbpOax9LEDm9akm8q6vZMjGVPipBy25A1wixKuRqqt-1ze-NpBCtQX8Bc7mXd41_tPmVqXTDKV5keOJNnbNXl577prO1E2Sco1sjwPXhydDrlb9ZGdhvjbd9guWX_bo4wlfPxZ-g/s320/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-6.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Then start removing the motherboard. There are no screws, you just have to lever carefully in those places where the tool can go. Go carefully with it, remove it by the corners. The motherboard is glued to the lcd.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk31AsFbYVZBD8jmxp2Hd23I4PLyVOyatxQejO1ezdN9ZPWt4IZw1RFyBhfzrrVNOsmt5r9gvFTNAbpLMiKtAL_H1vpcXrhO-VOsWPUCNGyoECr7EISBAjAd0GET73FSSk-tstWhG0Nog/s1600/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk31AsFbYVZBD8jmxp2Hd23I4PLyVOyatxQejO1ezdN9ZPWt4IZw1RFyBhfzrrVNOsmt5r9gvFTNAbpLMiKtAL_H1vpcXrhO-VOsWPUCNGyoECr7EISBAjAd0GET73FSSk-tstWhG0Nog/s320/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Open it to the side. I am not dissasembling the whole phone here, just putting the motherboard to the side to get to the earpiece.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoO6jEYL6jyEFc04iOup8VlpPcwVDOgZKYrj1gZzyuJHkdKFIcsy1czgyQIvRd0n4HBNo94h97qgbVSofy8eY5QV8aqswYE6JuEuVFS4ZITSUgbmxwzg1a-1EZCLg-iadJHasIWtgKiZA/s1600/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoO6jEYL6jyEFc04iOup8VlpPcwVDOgZKYrj1gZzyuJHkdKFIcsy1czgyQIvRd0n4HBNo94h97qgbVSofy8eY5QV8aqswYE6JuEuVFS4ZITSUgbmxwzg1a-1EZCLg-iadJHasIWtgKiZA/s320/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-9.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
There you can see the earpice, I am pointing to it with the pry tool<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvgpfzGqiiEBK-wrTmGzZgBEYlE5Q7JfIJEFCXii0LJ9TpthWHVwHXxReluZmu1P9wOlJC52CcNCNme1PyAgQAdhAnCFZtTu31oIc6ccqNmtVm_Z0E6tGtYvOYmeCJc6rqfxzo0XreJe8/s1600/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvgpfzGqiiEBK-wrTmGzZgBEYlE5Q7JfIJEFCXii0LJ9TpthWHVwHXxReluZmu1P9wOlJC52CcNCNme1PyAgQAdhAnCFZtTu31oIc6ccqNmtVm_Z0E6tGtYvOYmeCJc6rqfxzo0XreJe8/s320/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I used a very small screwdriver to remove the earpiece, but the earpiece came appart.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyySXrbWsOgqvA2nHil5plRS3CCHrbDmdX4P_dIOObzyOR9lURpsNvELTTxff0xZvp_PE4lqEGz1TS-KwEBkQfh2j9x5yoTe4rMg3vWVoC64b3zqzTc2m7u8fLieYPNeVAHRdApisZiB8/s1600/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyySXrbWsOgqvA2nHil5plRS3CCHrbDmdX4P_dIOObzyOR9lURpsNvELTTxff0xZvp_PE4lqEGz1TS-KwEBkQfh2j9x5yoTe4rMg3vWVoC64b3zqzTc2m7u8fLieYPNeVAHRdApisZiB8/s320/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I just broke it. Well I had a new one anyway. But again I found lots of metalic dust behind it. I do not really know how it got there either, I just got rid of it. I am sure that it was that that was causing the hearing problem. It probably interfered with the sound vibration or something as the center of the earpiece is a magnet.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPYZrKRiNqhmZc2uAMUOLHROVtZIM771uIbum3z03CUfcVofGaMopbCeyogscDkuuT-GsQMkrM3nn3cBf7J8FwUB8c-y8q-CqTb-sr0eCpsaqruDBeu_6DyHlnfmNq6bm_e-R8AYZqoKs/s1600/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPYZrKRiNqhmZc2uAMUOLHROVtZIM771uIbum3z03CUfcVofGaMopbCeyogscDkuuT-GsQMkrM3nn3cBf7J8FwUB8c-y8q-CqTb-sr0eCpsaqruDBeu_6DyHlnfmNq6bm_e-R8AYZqoKs/s320/motorola-moto-g-1st-gen-change-earpiece-12.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And here is the new one I just mounted. You have to place it in the same way, with the connectors in the same direction than the old one. Well, it works well now!<br />
<br />
<br />

I bought a second hand Motorola G 1st generation as a spare phone, but the son during calls did not work. No one could hear me and the microphone seemed damaged and ready to be replaced. I heard the others throgh the speaker but with very bad quality.<br />
When I plugged in the headphones everything worked fine. So I first proceeded to retire dust with a vacuum cleaner and nothing changed. Then I wiped cached partition and reset the phone and the problem was still there. I even though on sending to a repare service but it would have costed me more than the phone itself so I decided to clean the inside of the microphone with a needle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZq-o275qZl4aBGVELDFg67jVvO-GzGYOD7EwOZw0IzLCC-1NUi6ZXanfILhACmkJsKdWmCYTcheQK5P__RRMHvvvxA4UDETnZX8G47MFEEC790M1zaA9x3YHqJMxxqttS5LQ241SX91g/s1600/repair-motorola-g-microphone.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZq-o275qZl4aBGVELDFg67jVvO-GzGYOD7EwOZw0IzLCC-1NUi6ZXanfILhACmkJsKdWmCYTcheQK5P__RRMHvvvxA4UDETnZX8G47MFEEC790M1zaA9x3YHqJMxxqttS5LQ241SX91g/s320/repair-motorola-g-microphone.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
As you can see the hole is very small and at first I went carefully perceiving some resisting thing that I though it was something from the device itself. I just decided to push a little bit more, just a little without forcing and boom! It works now. I did the same thing with the upper microphone, the noise-cancelling microphone next to the audio jack.<br />
The fact that the microphe was stuck with dust seemed to affect all the audio during calls, the speaker and microphone. Once the microphone was clean the sound's speaker works nicely too during calls.<br />
<br />
I just tried this fix with the Motorola G 1st generation but I don't think it would be a good idea to try something like that with a waterproof phone or a really expensive one. Well, microphone hole is really tiny and it is better to keep it out of dust and dirt.<br />

Convert an old HD from your laptop into an external unit is quite simple and cheap. You need to buy an enclosure with a SATA to USB adapter. In a few minutes you can have a great backup drive to store your photos or documents. The good part of it, is that it is recycling, easily done and very cheap, considering that an external drive can get up to 100 euros. This SATA external case costed me about 7 euros, with a cable and small phillips screw driver included.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUwk2trapWaTaEbr2rGJwKa2lFNJy_tBLf4c-lcX8iKZEBm7EA7RpnYFQyNc5s2ILnQvPVBScd8cqscQVoSI7xBVq0anbUd_dwZN82-KcZlLoHC52UNm3x-FU1-GIoQJLSapbfpEK9saw/s1600/Convert-old-HD-into-external-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="External SATA USB case" border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUwk2trapWaTaEbr2rGJwKa2lFNJy_tBLf4c-lcX8iKZEBm7EA7RpnYFQyNc5s2ILnQvPVBScd8cqscQVoSI7xBVq0anbUd_dwZN82-KcZlLoHC52UNm3x-FU1-GIoQJLSapbfpEK9saw/s320/Convert-old-HD-into-external-1.jpg" title="External SATA USB case" width="320" /></a></div>
The cable has two USB extensions: one for the data and the other for power suply.<br />
To connect the adapter and put the drive into the external case it is incredibly simple.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDPmqHka9ecomIl3ZXzyDFvYFrQJQSwZMH9l6FcfKYryh7BFuDkHop3VIl4o1nF3rBDQn2BQqsPYv1Sr_z1AyXwtpH9-5oGUJUL_D7xBO9vGjK8g_EXqkE7MBEYDFxWfqibjJc3w_5XeM/s1600/Convert-old-HD-into-external-drive-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="How to plug a SATA HD into an external case" border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDPmqHka9ecomIl3ZXzyDFvYFrQJQSwZMH9l6FcfKYryh7BFuDkHop3VIl4o1nF3rBDQn2BQqsPYv1Sr_z1AyXwtpH9-5oGUJUL_D7xBO9vGjK8g_EXqkE7MBEYDFxWfqibjJc3w_5XeM/s320/Convert-old-HD-into-external-drive-2.jpg" title="How to plug a SATA HD into an external case" width="320" /></a></div>
I <a href="http://storiesofmaria.blogspot.com/2014/10/samsung-evo-ssd-250gb-on-macbook-pro.html" target="_blank">replaced this old HD for a new SSD driver</a> for my Mac Book which is working so well since then, so now I am using my home made external unit for backups.<br />

My Dolce Gusto coffee machine started leaking without even plugin in to the socket. Water was leaking at the base, the tank would get completely empty in a few seconds, so I dismounted the back cover to see.<br />
Use a Torx tool.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0_3XY0-fbXIuHBEKlvlI-1H8JjCJKX7bLm6O3h4eKYeVLxnsB2bD7H1rdtHMI73x4WS9X-3W1iaW7wFHG28OE662OY-RwSXjiaPfjd8eXkZvIdKkJJjC7_0QVlH-9xyeu9VRTFEkp4_w/s1600/Repair-Dolce-Gusto-Leaking-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0_3XY0-fbXIuHBEKlvlI-1H8JjCJKX7bLm6O3h4eKYeVLxnsB2bD7H1rdtHMI73x4WS9X-3W1iaW7wFHG28OE662OY-RwSXjiaPfjd8eXkZvIdKkJJjC7_0QVlH-9xyeu9VRTFEkp4_w/s1600/Repair-Dolce-Gusto-Leaking-1.JPG" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
Fisrt start removing the two screws down besides the reservoir connector.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhonLdfqP7lFVIKI7H5IIdZs3lpHDU4SrDSXH2JFmgi09mDfqlnS5ivEiaZElu_-F45VTT_nouQq4aa-8SyFskHXAuccTtcWv9w3DGLQ8uNcVVL82KhEOJu6j4RzV1f3Bpi3RFEiTuIYIQ/s1600/Repair-dolce-Gusto-Leaking-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhonLdfqP7lFVIKI7H5IIdZs3lpHDU4SrDSXH2JFmgi09mDfqlnS5ivEiaZElu_-F45VTT_nouQq4aa-8SyFskHXAuccTtcWv9w3DGLQ8uNcVVL82KhEOJu6j4RzV1f3Bpi3RFEiTuIYIQ/s1600/Repair-dolce-Gusto-Leaking-2.JPG" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
Down there you see the join inside the water connector. That small rubber joint was apparently in a good shape but the problem really came from it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnFh9bAn70tIZo_b9Ug5IVVxpnxsLzgfe7hPnt7s9XeTwR4_UEGgnuUzr0qYko-HmeTkaVZpJzQLriT5F4sa1lt5VVmCMEk0wMHTRb6OmbO9b3UtS6I2kHw5hOMYGM4PiyAe8Bn0BL7Gk/s1600/Dolce-Gusto-Descaling-Water-Filter.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnFh9bAn70tIZo_b9Ug5IVVxpnxsLzgfe7hPnt7s9XeTwR4_UEGgnuUzr0qYko-HmeTkaVZpJzQLriT5F4sa1lt5VVmCMEk0wMHTRb6OmbO9b3UtS6I2kHw5hOMYGM4PiyAe8Bn0BL7Gk/s1600/Dolce-Gusto-Descaling-Water-Filter.JPG" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I took the small water filter and descaled it by diping it in white vinegar for a few minutes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH7aSKcgGMri_4MNtqk7zYZcZ9Gea40Eqj2cgcCDw0yg9Vt2aeQXsp9nkS9Vil849iN5Jm9cZfF0kgUuKtPfRGvn9uepEgEgcjY_MjkEt8MHZ8qb-eRGshW_OVivnHGAp0qc1vikFZbCI/s1600/Rubber-Joints.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH7aSKcgGMri_4MNtqk7zYZcZ9Gea40Eqj2cgcCDw0yg9Vt2aeQXsp9nkS9Vil849iN5Jm9cZfF0kgUuKtPfRGvn9uepEgEgcjY_MjkEt8MHZ8qb-eRGshW_OVivnHGAp0qc1vikFZbCI/s1600/Rubber-Joints.JPG" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
Then I took a rubber tap joint from my tool box and put it on top of the rubber joint as you see it in the circle. Then I mounted all back again and it works! The joint was just too used, and you can replace it with a tap rubber joint, just find the right size.<br />
<br />
<h4 style="text-align: left;">
Descale the coffe machine</h4>
This is always a good thing to do every two or three months to keep the inside clean. <br />
I descaled completely by filling the water tank with a mixture of water and 10% of white vinegar, I inserted the empty capsule holder and pressed the lever as if I were making coffee till the tank was empty.<br />
Then I filled the tank again with fresh clean water and repeated the process to rinse.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi81VcXpdyGdiI_K6x3rUFwg5h79PZLmzel7HfoOzIogb5fJOUnsYPs_dGbejWNlGarMFI0xf6VDT-J5JC1PlmENqdiYo_QwAfoeCrzlTVL7o-qo800k0ITnVPiqib450yzD3nq52qFQXo/s1600/Dolce-Gusto-Circolo-Repaired.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi81VcXpdyGdiI_K6x3rUFwg5h79PZLmzel7HfoOzIogb5fJOUnsYPs_dGbejWNlGarMFI0xf6VDT-J5JC1PlmENqdiYo_QwAfoeCrzlTVL7o-qo800k0ITnVPiqib450yzD3nq52qFQXo/s1600/Dolce-Gusto-Circolo-Repaired.JPG" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
And here it is! Making coffee again!</div>

This is a fix for the LG TV Plasma model 3500 and it will work for many other TV models. The screen tooks longer to turn on until it went completely off. I tried the hair drier trick that worked every now and then but it was getting worse anyway and it needed a fix.<br />
When the TV screen does not turn on it is 90% because of a power supply board problem. It may be the capacitors, or not.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg26Fe3QHQxYEK2QueouIgt0Aja2j2i36Nrr-FqZJVqL7LNgUOOfO7NLMIcmOccHsFg1RL15EUis-OePezVKYF9dSEO0MkB9g30sNCxPp2k7W-bMjr7W_Vfg5MGHifWUbq_OAkV8WQQUCw/s1600/LG-plasma-screen-power-off-repair-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg26Fe3QHQxYEK2QueouIgt0Aja2j2i36Nrr-FqZJVqL7LNgUOOfO7NLMIcmOccHsFg1RL15EUis-OePezVKYF9dSEO0MkB9g30sNCxPp2k7W-bMjr7W_Vfg5MGHifWUbq_OAkV8WQQUCw/s1600/LG-plasma-screen-power-off-repair-1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I took the cover off and there you can see the supply board on the left hooked to the main board.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj557_0P5qAuu1mjvaMpf4WS-xzHrjULYrn3gTkeFoeLipl-ouXfCtuO0p-zB8vMDKSR4bhg7blPZcRv-0FNOVq-kru2u47C3RB4RxDCPhCmqhy1pBIFQeP7jXReOlkr9CNczzJbSG6tcM/s1600/lg-plasma-repair-power-suply-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj557_0P5qAuu1mjvaMpf4WS-xzHrjULYrn3gTkeFoeLipl-ouXfCtuO0p-zB8vMDKSR4bhg7blPZcRv-0FNOVq-kru2u47C3RB4RxDCPhCmqhy1pBIFQeP7jXReOlkr9CNczzJbSG6tcM/s1600/lg-plasma-repair-power-suply-2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
When I examined closely the supply board the capacitors were all right, so I turned the board around and repaired all the bad welds, there were seven or eight that looked bad. I really had a hard time with my soldering iron as it took about 5 minutes to heat every spot, I think it may be a faulty one but it did the job anyway and we can enjoy our TV back.<br />
This TV costed about 500 euros 4 years ago and to repair it today it has only costd me a few drops of soldering tin. And patience :) I am glad it works know and I wonder how many things people throw away because they don't know it can be repaired easily.<br />
<br />
You can see all the details in my video:<br />

<br />
Update on Oct-2016 : I had to go through some welding points again, two years later, as the problem with power on came back, the screen did not turn on. I have got a much better soldering iron this time, and wonder: it is working back again.</div>

The fantastic thing about SSD (Solid State Drive) drives is that there are no mechanical part in it, thay have layers of flash memory inside, so there is no magnetic friction or anythyng as in HDDs. They consume less power making your battery last longer.<br />
And, best of all it can really boost your laptop. This time the upgrade will need an spacer as the Samsung Evo SSD is only about 7mm thick against the 9mm HDD.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

You will have to unscrew all those tiny screws on the four sides around the MacBook and the four long ones you see besides the ram memory slot.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1Ahyjn7inNhjL6NKqivq63DvJbHq-gOcuo1P7dP2bQcdCkqpCyALQi6cbyfUtJfu75ZjjJ1Y_EUDGJlmdrq_YB8nYIND0CRV4YgYEgJRyhwm4eLC68gd8fuVhzqEMjvxUiRujM_LYGN0/s1600/samsung-ssd-macbookpro-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1Ahyjn7inNhjL6NKqivq63DvJbHq-gOcuo1P7dP2bQcdCkqpCyALQi6cbyfUtJfu75ZjjJ1Y_EUDGJlmdrq_YB8nYIND0CRV4YgYEgJRyhwm4eLC68gd8fuVhzqEMjvxUiRujM_LYGN0/s1600/samsung-ssd-macbookpro-3.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
There are also two more screws inside the battery place.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXMAB855E6FHyzvJsctG4cwkeVJm9cML8AOVpK7DwZ33gYdUCBh0CEcNVP4mb2E7LiWrSvIHpXcsX__DypFjbu-qAxlVAJFRIO08C0ZX7z5MGerwscFqux-XE8zzssbhWs-eF9zxy8ZzE/s1600/samsung-ssd-macbook-pro-lifting-keyboard-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXMAB855E6FHyzvJsctG4cwkeVJm9cML8AOVpK7DwZ33gYdUCBh0CEcNVP4mb2E7LiWrSvIHpXcsX__DypFjbu-qAxlVAJFRIO08C0ZX7z5MGerwscFqux-XE8zzssbhWs-eF9zxy8ZzE/s1600/samsung-ssd-macbook-pro-lifting-keyboard-5.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
And here it's time to lift up the upper case with the keyboard in it. Do not force anything, if you see that it doesn't come up easy, check if there still some more screws. Once it comes up you will see the cable ribbon from the keyboard connected to the main board. You will have to unplug it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6_Ud4AitnXHt0pKxONEi8jjsxn8Ggc_deFhS8-rXIGK6JhBnk-PHsvlNsE1x2eqcDzxamQFriurDoUXvir0NR8AFL-ePvhGxTnol3QK9AOtH9oHtnRVIAjtPoHCtMyPhAeUh76Ug-ke4/s1600/samsung-ssd-macbook-pro-8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6_Ud4AitnXHt0pKxONEi8jjsxn8Ggc_deFhS8-rXIGK6JhBnk-PHsvlNsE1x2eqcDzxamQFriurDoUXvir0NR8AFL-ePvhGxTnol3QK9AOtH9oHtnRVIAjtPoHCtMyPhAeUh76Ug-ke4/s1600/samsung-ssd-macbook-pro-8.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
There on the left corner is the Hitachi HDD. Unplug the ribbon in the middle of the main board,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

To pull up the lever that holds the HDD unscrew the two torx first.<br />

Then pull up the HDD<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3G-DPGbwp3-xPZVFG8VbQy9KUxN0izi2fYneqNslveK8b6TSPA-Rg_uFjPncZa6nQfVtC26fEXOQVP1ytkPeDJrJZw6F-GVjcRLmS5Weu0hk5-lx2PDxIPON7r6UvM-aq0ECwvh-ib-w/s1600/2014-10-04+17.28.37.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3G-DPGbwp3-xPZVFG8VbQy9KUxN0izi2fYneqNslveK8b6TSPA-Rg_uFjPncZa6nQfVtC26fEXOQVP1ytkPeDJrJZw6F-GVjcRLmS5Weu0hk5-lx2PDxIPON7r6UvM-aq0ECwvh-ib-w/s1600/2014-10-04+17.28.37.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Transfer the side screws from the HDD to the SSD drive, turn the Samsung SSD upside down, not as you see in the picture. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPo0jriifhcmAKflyn2Edzx8S7e-sFHwvJ30CdDgAC02Td9c1UCeNMAfbup6jTdwX3jPfY8Cda8SUhDUS_3PtdLEg2a6C7N028SSxXW8HVEWCF7XRE8oYlGUUgQaPJ4WmZIjRRZP5-qI8/s1600/ssd-vs-hdd-11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPo0jriifhcmAKflyn2Edzx8S7e-sFHwvJ30CdDgAC02Td9c1UCeNMAfbup6jTdwX3jPfY8Cda8SUhDUS_3PtdLEg2a6C7N028SSxXW8HVEWCF7XRE8oYlGUUgQaPJ4WmZIjRRZP5-qI8/s1600/ssd-vs-hdd-11.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
There you can see the diference between an SSD and a HDD. The SSD is 2mm thinner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiznkS2PzRiNvOg9q8y5ESd_H_waKS6smfB8CuurjhbEtcu6YUmz3Lqm2LkoThuUjCDqsjygn4BwC1cJUJYEaVLXVrOvoPfxvonCaQQdSjlRvrGA5A3jpBXO2sf1C0ZE_TQG5UlCf3CSik/s1600/put-the-ssd-spacer-12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiznkS2PzRiNvOg9q8y5ESd_H_waKS6smfB8CuurjhbEtcu6YUmz3Lqm2LkoThuUjCDqsjygn4BwC1cJUJYEaVLXVrOvoPfxvonCaQQdSjlRvrGA5A3jpBXO2sf1C0ZE_TQG5UlCf3CSik/s1600/put-the-ssd-spacer-12.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
That's why we need the spacer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgycjaEp4qRjwnJP5dwrHm6nep1Scdaqs2S8gvkYc9XNvsyeu1ZYRjxClsIqGBpQhyphenhyphenctdrGPgxDFH5W4xPvU34Oe8MhUBYYFyVyhtnKSqRDfXJdHOrB2keOP_0kF_vzeKbggdibpvbiNFc/s1600/samsung-ssd-mounted-on-macbook-pro-13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgycjaEp4qRjwnJP5dwrHm6nep1Scdaqs2S8gvkYc9XNvsyeu1ZYRjxClsIqGBpQhyphenhyphenctdrGPgxDFH5W4xPvU34Oe8MhUBYYFyVyhtnKSqRDfXJdHOrB2keOP_0kF_vzeKbggdibpvbiNFc/s1600/samsung-ssd-mounted-on-macbook-pro-13.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Then connect the SSD drive and mount back everything in reverse order.<br />
That's it!<br />

Remove the main back cover and then unscrew the five screws with the keyboard symbol as seen in this picture:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitD2LRvuA4sORclDkIPgvMnHGPoj5dL7RxE9OL7dffZ76CrMTbthP6pRHJSlOqwpL_vKW6J91Mu3rlk5Qnmy01xQEdynbh_Omq2yCNvbiSEKAEYwF4kThzy9uy5yIE_FLQm2VRTrVUFxk/s1600/dismount-hp-pavilion-dm1-keyboard-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitD2LRvuA4sORclDkIPgvMnHGPoj5dL7RxE9OL7dffZ76CrMTbthP6pRHJSlOqwpL_vKW6J91Mu3rlk5Qnmy01xQEdynbh_Omq2yCNvbiSEKAEYwF4kThzy9uy5yIE_FLQm2VRTrVUFxk/s1600/dismount-hp-pavilion-dm1-keyboard-1.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Lift the top part of the keyboard with a small screwdriver. Look for the leaning points and do it very gently.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Lift the keyboard a little bit only and you will see that it is pluged to the main board.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Unplug the keyboard from the main board by lifting up the black top holder piece. It does not come by pulling but the holder piece under the yellow tape in the main board should be lifted first.<br />

There it is. As you can see this one was very dirty inside but after a good cleaning and brushing everywhere, specially the fan, everything worked fine!<br />

Vim has many features and you can configure in the way you want to make the most of it. To wrap lines you need to change your vimrc file and also to disable the automatic new line behavior.<br />
<br />
When you are typing text Vim will automatically insert a new line after the 80 column. This is not convenient and it's very annoying if you use Vim to write besides programming as I do.<br />
Another nice feature is to have a left margin so text is not right next to the window border.<br />
<br />
Here's my vimrc file:<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">" Word wrapping and disable new line automatically<br />set wrap<br />set linebreak<br />set nolist " list disables linebreak<br />set textwidth=0<br />set wrapmargin=0<br />set formatoptions-=tc<br /><br />" Margin between text and window's border<br />set foldcolumn=3</span> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLJk_ft6m1lVX2E1xbFNMfUVJ1RA3FbablvAjoyJ54zsA3yikxsoHnpCrYrLxFZN4J8kCotpxCL6JsCFHxri6QD-xaXeFfdcdslxl-vq7GActFuqVuPIfAWo1gxfZVpj7cFNVXBCPPTmg/s1600/vim-word-wrap-disable-new-line-1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLJk_ft6m1lVX2E1xbFNMfUVJ1RA3FbablvAjoyJ54zsA3yikxsoHnpCrYrLxFZN4J8kCotpxCL6JsCFHxri6QD-xaXeFfdcdslxl-vq7GActFuqVuPIfAWo1gxfZVpj7cFNVXBCPPTmg/s1600/vim-word-wrap-disable-new-line-1.png" height="320" width="307" /></a></div>
And here's how the text looks like with the new configuration:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_kQLVpeKRulrvhfRPPoY39JAZ402aJSRGI6G8aN4TbXvformULQWE6c6dTMaKr5WUv8QG1tsAd_cnT8vV_AKf_FXucQw9syTncIdewW-vuhmaREQEAc58Pu7eNWn35Cx-OXmtabNuVro/s1600/vim-word-wrap-disable-new-line-2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_kQLVpeKRulrvhfRPPoY39JAZ402aJSRGI6G8aN4TbXvformULQWE6c6dTMaKr5WUv8QG1tsAd_cnT8vV_AKf_FXucQw9syTncIdewW-vuhmaREQEAc58Pu7eNWn35Cx-OXmtabNuVro/s1600/vim-word-wrap-disable-new-line-2.png" height="264" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I really like Vim and I use it on Mac, Unix and Windows because it's a very light weight editor and you can <a href="http://storiesofmaria.blogspot.fr/2013/03/turn-vim-into-writeroom.html" target="_blank">make Vim a full writing tool like WriteRoom</a>, or al full programming editor to code and compile.<br />
You can also try my <a href="http://storiesofmaria.blogspot.fr/2013/12/vim-green-black-color-scheme.html" target="_blank">Vim green on black background colour scheme</a> if you like. </div>

Vim has become my most used writing and light programming tool. I've tried different color schemes and finally created my own. It's green and dark green on a black background.<br />
I've set the cursor color magenta to quickly find where you are at when editing. A color scheme it's a very particular thing and you may even want to create your own! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV6QCSWAmWfclB4CxHdqj_28f3WaH_dNByiVhj_ZuaYMkyBjq3zqmM_WoIJOqVY9zaayFsVxDNVh-LtIzmZDM46iSUGIkZe3QNU8hH_WRIfhyphenhyphen4ligvxMh7pwUSNs6xcLNG1gTQWHHCCLs/s1600/vim-theme-green-black-background.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="196" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV6QCSWAmWfclB4CxHdqj_28f3WaH_dNByiVhj_ZuaYMkyBjq3zqmM_WoIJOqVY9zaayFsVxDNVh-LtIzmZDM46iSUGIkZe3QNU8hH_WRIfhyphenhyphen4ligvxMh7pwUSNs6xcLNG1gTQWHHCCLs/s320/vim-theme-green-black-background.PNG" width="320" /></a></div>
As you can see this Vim green black color scheme it's very relaxing for the eyes. I've called this Vim theme defaultme.vim and here is the color file:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">" Vim color file<br />" Maintainer: Maria<br />" Last Change: 2013 Dec<br /><br />" This is a Vim dark color scheme with black background and green foreground colors<br /><br />hi clear<br /><br />if version > 580<br /> " no guarantees for version 5.8 and below, but this makes it stop<br /> " complaining<br /> hi clear<br /> if exists("syntax_on")<br /> syntax reset<br /> endif<br />endif<br /><br />" Load the syntax highlighting defaults, if it's enabled.<br />if exists("syntax_on")<br /> syntax reset<br />endif<br /><br />let colors_name = "defaultme"<br /><br />" highlight groups<br /><br />" Set nice colors green foreground on dark background<br />highlight Normal guifg=#00FF00<br />highlight Normal guibg=#000000<br /><br />hi Cursor guifg=black guibg=magenta gui=none<br />hi ErrorMsg guifg=white guibg=red gui=none<br />hi VertSplit guifg=gray40 guibg=gray40 gui=none<br />hi Folded guifg=DarkSlateGray3 guibg=gray40 gui=none<br />hi FoldColumn guifg=tan guibg=#000000 gui=none<br />hi IncSearch guifg=#b0ffff guibg=#2050d0<br />hi LineNr guifg=burlywood3 gui=none<br />hi ModeMsg guifg=SkyBlue gui=none<br />hi MoreMsg guifg=SeaGreen gui=none<br />hi NonText guifg=cyan gui=none<br />hi Question guifg=springgreen gui=none<br />hi Search guifg=gray80 guibg=#445599 gui=none<br />hi SpecialKey guifg=cyan gui=none<br />hi StatusLine guifg=black guibg=green gui=bold<br />hi StatusLineNC guifg=grey guibg=gray40 gui=none<br />hi Title guifg=#ff4400 gui=none gui=bold<br />hi Visual guifg=gray17 guibg=tan1 gui=none<br />hi WarningMsg guifg=salmon gui=none<br />hi Pmenu guifg=white guibg=#445599 gui=none<br />hi PmenuSel guifg=#445599 guibg=gray<br />hi WildMenu guifg=gray guibg=gray17 gui=none<br />hi MatchParen guifg=cyan guibg=#6C6C6C gui=bold<br />hi DiffAdd guifg=black guibg=wheat1<br />hi DiffChange guifg=black guibg=skyblue1<br />hi DiffText guifg=black guibg=hotpink1 gui=none<br />hi DiffDelete guibg=gray45 guifg=black gui=none<br /><br />" syntax highlighting groups<br />hi Comment guifg=darkcyan gui=none<br />" olive<br />hi Constant guifg=#808000 gui=none<br />hi Identifier guifg=#808000 gui=none<br />hi Function guifg=#82EF2A gui=none<br />hi Statement guifg=darkcyan gui=none<br />hi PreProc guifg=#82EF2A gui=none<br />hi Type guifg=darkgreen gui=none<br />hi Special guifg=darkmagenta gui=none<br />hi Ignore guifg=red gui=none<br />hi Todo guifg=red guibg=yellow2 gui=none<br /><br />" color terminal definitions<br />hi SpecialKey ctermfg=red<br />hi NonText cterm=bold ctermfg=darkblue<br />hi Directory ctermfg=darkcyan<br />hi ErrorMsg cterm=bold ctermfg=7 ctermbg=1<br />hi IncSearch cterm=NONE ctermfg=yellow ctermbg=green<br />hi Search cterm=NONE ctermfg=white ctermbg=grey<br />hi MoreMsg ctermfg=darkgreen<br />hi ModeMsg cterm=NONE ctermfg=brown<br />hi LineNr ctermfg=3<br />hi Question ctermfg=green<br />hi StatusLine cterm=bold,reverse<br />hi StatusLineNC cterm=reverse<br />hi VertSplit cterm=reverse<br />hi Title ctermfg=5<br />hi Visual cterm=reverse<br />hi VisualNOS cterm=bold,underline<br />hi WarningMsg ctermfg=1<br />hi WildMenu ctermfg=0 ctermbg=3<br />hi Folded ctermfg=darkgrey ctermbg=NONE<br />hi FoldColumn ctermfg=darkgrey ctermbg=NONE<br />hi DiffAdd ctermbg=4<br />hi DiffChange ctermbg=5<br />hi DiffDelete cterm=bold ctermfg=4 ctermbg=6<br />hi DiffText cterm=bold ctermbg=1<br />hi Comment ctermfg=darkcyan<br />hi Constant ctermfg=brown<br />hi Special ctermfg=5<br />hi Identifier ctermfg=6<br />hi Statement ctermfg=3<br />hi PreProc ctermfg=5<br />hi Type ctermfg=2<br />hi Underlined cterm=underline ctermfg=5<br />hi Ignore ctermfg=darkgrey<br />hi Error cterm=bold ctermfg=7 ctermbg=1</span></span><br />

Al you've got to do is copy it in a file and name it as defaultme.vm then place it on the color folder. If you use Vim for writing you can tuning it to make it like the <a href="http://storiesofmaria.blogspot.com/2013/03/turn-vim-into-writeroom.html" target="_blank">WriteRoom writing enviroment</a>.<br />
