Rowenta Instant Comfort Aqua Fan Heater Stops Working

The Rowenta Instant Comfort Fan Heater is a wonderful heater for the bathroom. It has a plastic cover over the buttons to keep it dry while you are taking a shower. But a few weeks ago it stoped for no reason after only about five minutes working.  At first I thought that it was some kind of security system which started when the air is too humid and I tried to start it up over and over but it did not work.

I could say that I was ready to buy a new fan heater for the bathroom for showers in winter need some heat for sure. But I though that I would give it a try to repair it so I decided to open it and use the vacuum cleaner to clean it. The heater has two Phillips screws and two torks screws in the back.

The heater opened

You can see all that dirt inside, so I cleaned as much as I could. And I put a special attention to the thermostat part, it was really dirty and dusty at that precise spot. I cleaned it and also squeezed together the two diodes contact which when separated make the heater stop.

It took me about twenty minutes to do it all and now it works like a charm. I am really glad that I repaired it because it is a nice heater of good quality and I did not want to waste money in a new one, just because I am usually more satisfied when I repair something than when I replace it.
